Tata Steel has a manganese ore mining operation in the state of Odisha. The company also operates a ferro alloy plant at Joda in the same state.
Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited (FACL) has a manganese ore mining operation in the state of Odisha. The company also operates a ferro alloy plant at Sriramnagar in Andhra Pradesh.
Apart from these major players, several small-scale producers also contribute to the manganese production in India.
The production and distribution of manganese in India are regulated by the Ministry of Mines, and the production data is regularly published by the Indian Bureau of Mines. The Indian manganese ore has a high quality and is exported to several countries, including China, Japan, and South Korea.
